The best way to attack cancer is with a proactive diet.
Cancer is a dreaded word which we hear more often every day. Cancer appears when over a longer period we have not taken the right care of our body. When repeated negative actions have provoked a constant irritation which then has mutated into a chronic inflammation in our system. Our lifestyles are unhealthy with many different factors playing an important role. Some negative things we can avoid and some we cannot. The air we breath is normally beyond our control, the job which causes us stress and makes us sleep not good enough, that is also not so easy to get a grip on.
A change in food
But there are things we can do to improve our health and that is to take care of what kind of food we put into our mouth. The type of food we eat has a big influence on our overall health and well-being.
Sadly enough we have turned away from whole foods, we are eating man-made foods not what nature has to offer us. When you look at labels nowadays more often than not you find a long list of unpronounceable words of which we have not a clue what they mean.
The Mediterranean diet has always been praised for its natural ingredients, fresh fruits and vegetables, fish and some meat and lots of good olive oil to not forget the glass of red wine.
In the Sur in English from the first week of April 2017 came an interesting and also hope giving article written by Daniel Carbonero.
A University study
The scientists from the University of Almeria in the south of Spain have made a happy discovery.
The combination of olive oil with tomatoes seems to be very effective in combating colon cancer. In the Mediterranean diet, there are many well known and delicious recipes including these 2 ingredients. The famous Gazpacho and also Salmorejo, both a cold summer soup.
The scientific study which was published in the Journal of the Science of Food and Agriculture stated that some components in tomatoes like lycopene act against the development of original tumor cells in the colon and stops them spreading.
The combination with the olive oil, one should always use the virgin extra for cold dishes, seems to intensify the positive influence. In this study, many varieties of tomatoes were tested and it was shown that there are certain types of tomatoes which are more effective than others. The ones that were more round and red produced a more active response against the tumoral cells in vitro. Also, the fact that only cancer cells are being attacked but not healthy cells is worth mentioning.
I have included a few recipes for healthy dishes on my page Improve Your Well-Being With Great Recipes.
Mother Nature provides with more natural methods to stop cancer.
Vitamin C interferes with cancer stem cell metabolism. This news comes from a new study of the University of Salford in Manchester.UK. Vitamin C stops the tumors in their tracks by interfering with cancer stem cell metabolism, it suppresses their ability to progress energy for survival and growth. The researchers Michael P.Lisanti and Gloria Bonucelli had their study published in a peer-reviewed journal, Oncotarget.
It was noticed that Vitamin C destroyed cancer stem cell by inducing oxidative stress. In total it showed to be many times more effective than conventional drugs. Something one should also take in consideration is the fact that Vitamin C does not have the serious side effects of most of the pharmaceutical drugs.
In these studies showing the very positive effects Vitamin C can have battling cancer the researchers used high doses of Vitamin C, administered intravenously. The IV Vitamin C therapy is available in some alternative and holistic cancer treatment clinics worldwide.
The sad thing is as Vitamin C cannot be patented one will not hear about it in mainstream media. Big Pharma cannot earn money with it so would rather not have this good news been known to the big public. That is why one has to stay informed about these happy discoveries. Like that one can make a decision on how to be treated in case cancer is diagnosed.
