FDA refusal to approve Turmeric for any medical use

Turmeric has over 700 health benefits and this claim is backed by over 8ooo research papers and also clinical studies at the U.S. National Library of Medicine.
Now, before we go into these health benefits a bit more in-depth, I would like to tell you some about its history.

The history of Turmeric

Turmeric is a bright yellow spice and is harvested from a plant that is related to ginger. Curcumin is the active ingredient in this herbal remedy. It has been used medicinally for over 5000 years in China and India. It is used in Asian recipes as well as for dying fabric and cosmetics. In the 14th century, early European explorers brought this spice back home.

Turmeric finds its use in the folk remedy. The ancient Indian medical system, Ayurveda, still utilizes it today. Johnson&Johnson even makes Band-Aids with turmeric for the Indian market. It is used for dental diseases, digestive disorders, ulcers, acidity, and the list goes on.

The amazing properties of Curcumin

The healing compound of Turmeric is CURCUMIN. It has been proven that curcumin has the ability to suppress acute and chronic inflammation. When the body produces inflammation, it wants to tell us something is wrong while in the meantime our immune system goes to battle that situation.

Now if the cause of this inflammation is not eliminated then it will become chronic and can become a serious health issue, things like leaking gut or cancer.

Curcumin will help prevent inflammation to become an illness and in the case of this illness already existing will attack this. Curcumin has no side effects on fetuses and will be helpful when radiation therapy is being used.

The Indian way of cooking with curry is known all over the world nowadays. The use of fat and also coconut milk helps the curcumin to be absorbed by the digestive tract. As small children already eat these spices, it helps them to build up an effective defense from a young age.

All the information in this book

Turmeric is a magical spice and has been used for so long, be it for health or potions. It is said it cleans the soul of bad demons. Already mentioned in ancient Sanskrit records of as far back as 250 BC.

It helps your immune system to be strong so no disease can enter. All in all, a great spice to add to your daily life. I sprinkle it on my breakfast egg. It also tastes great on a slice of cheese on toast and of course in all your curry dishes.

Take Curcumin to lower your cholesterol

Instead of taking pills to lower your cholesterol, you should eat 500mg of curcumin a day. A study published in the Indian Journal of Physiology and Pharmacology shows that volunteers who took this amount of curcumin for 7 days had spectacular results. Their LDL, which is the oxidized cholesterol, decreased by 33%, and the good one, HDL increased by 29%.

The American Journal of Cardiology has reported that the use of curcumin lowers your risk of a sudden cardiac event by 56%. It is so important to take care of what you eat. The wrong foods will clog up your arteries, curcumin keeps them clean.

The next time you think about taking a painkiller, a pill with side effects, think about trying curcumin. The American College of Rheumatology states that on a test trial which latest 8 weeks the curcumin user reported a 60% reduction in joint pain and 73% in joint swelling, all this without side effects.

The last thing I would like to mention is that the use of curcumin has positive effects on people who suffer from Alzheimer’s. Taking it over a longer period of time, people who did not recognize their family members anymore, now do. Curcumin works as it attacks the build-up plaque in your brain apart from other important things, it helps to keep your mind and memory sharp.

Conclusion

The FDA does not want to give the green light. One wonders why. As curcumin is a natural product, it cannot be patented so big Pharma loses out. They prefer to produce dangerous pills with side effects. It is so sad that all-natural methods are being pushed away. Opioid addiction is on the rise and general health is getting worse.

Mother nature provides for all our needs but human greed gets in the way. The Amazon rainforest is disappearing at an alarming speed and barely 10% of its flora has been discovered. So we will lose many helpful things forever even before knowing about it. Be informed, your health will thank you.

    Good evening Juan,

Thank you for visiting my website. Nature provides so many healthy things and it is a shame that the FDA refuses to allow this great spice to be used by people. That is why it is so important people are informed so they can decide for themselves what to take in case they have a health issue. What is better, Mother nature or chemicals? I personally prefer nature. Hope to see you again Juan.

Now I know the healing component of tumeric but it remains a mystery or what could be d major reasons behind FDA decisions on this compound despite it’s health benefits on human. Well, I believe it could be as a result of further research works on it or they perceive a possible abuse of it

    Good Morning Olatoye,

Thank you for the visit to my website and your comment. I hope you have downloaded your free PDF?

The FDA is friends with Big Pharma. Between the 2 of them, a lot of bad things have happened. If the FDA approves or disapproves something to me it has no value as in the past they have approved many harmful things. Big Pharma cannot patent Curcumin as it comes from nature. They cannot earn money on it and that is the reason their friend FDA does not approve it. The whole health system is set up to earn money, our health is not important.

That is why we have to think for ourselves and be informed as we are responsible for our own health.

Thank you for this educative post, I find it really informative and good.I never knew turmeric has so much importance and of great medicinal advantage to our diet. I will start taking curcumin in the right quantities, I wonder why FDA didn’t dim turmeric good enough for authentication. I will share this post with friends and I am sure they will find it helpful.

    Good Morning Clement,

The FDA and BigPharma are friends and together they decide what we should get or not. As Curcumin is a natural product it cannot be patented. No money can be made with this so it is not approved. They rather sell man-made pills with a long list of side effects. As long as a person is sick it will generate money, a healthy person does not. In the past, the FDA has approved a lot of harmful things. Their money comes before our health.

Thank you for sharing with us this great review on medical use of curcumin. It is very amazing how our nature has everything which is important to our health.

It is my first time to hear about curcumin but I was surprised how powerful it is in healing our body.

I think I wish to plant turmeric but I don’t think I could find it.

As I do not know where you live I cannot answer your question. The only thing I can say is that if the climate is too cold you can grow Tumeric inside. It is a bit similar to Ginger root. I hope that helps.

Imelda

Brilliant article,

I love turmeric and it is such a powerful vitamin that it does beg the question of why it would not be approved by the FDA or so many other health organizations around the world. It does annoy me that the medical profession are adverse to using good natural products rather than trying to promote medicines that are of no use to us as they are pumped full of chemicals that create more problems than cure the ones we have.

This article is so good as people can really see the benefits of Curcumin and then use them within their everyday cooking or even adding to smoothies.

Great article

Thank you

You know it is not too difficult to add curcumin into your diet. When I came to live in Spain many years ago, I started to use extra virgin olive oil. I even put it on my breakfast toast. Still, I thought I could not use it when having something sweet on my bread like honey. Anyhow, one day I tried, did not really like it, but I continued. After 1 week, I thought it tasted great.

The same applies like using curcumin on egg or cheese. You might not like the taste in the beginning, but I am sure you will get used to it.

Lately there has been a heavy crackdown on health websites. One needs to investigate the health benefits of natural things, as the authorities will not tell you.

    Regards, Taetske

Natural is the way to go in all health matters. These plants and spices are good for our bodies. Its a wonder why the FDA will not approve the use of Curcumin for medical use. Like you point out its all for the benefit of the big pharmaceutical companies.

Its now up to us as individuals to realise that we need these natural foods for our health. Let us educate our peers, our children, that these natural spices like tumeric are good for our health. Thank you for sharing.

    Good Morning Energy,

Oh, yes, I agree with you. The more natural, the better. Look what has happened to us. Modern gadgets and man-made food have made us happier? I do not think so. What is sure we now suffer all these ailments related to our modern lifestyle.

It is possible to reach old age being happy and in good shape as long as we have a healthy lifestyle.

Thank you for stopping by and for your comment. I hope you downloaded your free PDF? Tulip widget.
