The Food/Sex connection, recent evidence

I bet you are raising your eyebrows? Well, if you do, I promise this is going to be a very decent post. I hope it will be a valuable post, shedding some light on one of the problems of modern society. Food has a lot to do with sex. Eating the right type of food can increase your sex life.

Whether you are a man or a woman, it might be well worth it to continue reading. There is evidence that a poor sex life or sexual dysfunction could show some trouble in the future. I am talking about Heart Disease.

The positive effect of adding pumpkin seeds

One is never too old to change one’s habits, and I can give you a personal example. A few days ago, I received the results of my bone density test. Compared to the results of 2016, I have improved by 2.5%. You might think that does not sound like much, but I can tell you it is. I am 68, and over the years my bone density results had shown a decline.

One might argue that is normal, but getting older, one has to be very careful not to get brittle bones. That is why I am so happy to have improved my bone structure. I added seeds and nuts to my already healthy diet, and that did the trick.

Ok, let’s get back to what this post is about.

Food and its influence on your sex life

It seems that a poor lifestyle, i.e. smoking, too many animal-based foods, and especially processed foods, can have an adverse effect on your endothelium. You might now ask what is the endothelium. This is a single layer of cells that line the arteries and synthesizes nitric oxide from other similar molecules, which, in turn, helps arteries to dilate (expand).

It helps reduce the potential for arteries to become clogged and contributes to the reduction of atherosclerosis. This very thin lining is present in all the arteries of the body. If this lining gets damaged, it might show up as poor sexual performance many years before we recognize heart disease.

What food can do for you

There are a lot of foods you can eat and drink to help your arteries stay clean. One of them is Pomegranate juice. It reverses endothelial dysfunction and helps to keep your arteries clean.

Great tasting Pomegranate

This juice is full of antioxidants, which help to mitigate the negative impact that oxidative stress has on sperm function. It has also been shown to increase testosterone levels in men and women. Testosterone is one of the major hormones needed for sex performance. The taste of pomegranate juice is very nice so do give it a try. Swap your soda pop for this natural juice and enjoy better sex life.

Pomegranate has been used in recipes for hundreds of years. Even today you will find nice recipes where you can include this healthy fruit. I came across this yummy recipe recently and I would like to share it with you.

How about eating some pistachios

Another very helpful food is nuts. One of them, the pistachio nut, seems to do the trick. Eating some 100 grams a day will have a positive effect after 3 weeks. The positive effects of pistachio nuts were noted in a scientific study on men with erectile dysfunction. Cholesterol values went down, there was more blood flow in the penis and it improved the ability to have erections.

The following video will give you some helpful tips.

Keep your endothelium healthy

One of the fundamental things seems to be that a healthy endothelium will do the trick. If it is “sick”, meaning clogged with wrong foods like animal products, man-made foods, fatty foods, and bad fats like canola oil, you can understand your sex life will suffer. One should have a plant-based diet.

This does not mean you have to nibble on a lettuce leaf the whole day, and that is all you get. A balanced diet, including plants, will promote the production of nitric oxide through the endothelium which will improve your sex life.

Add foods that are high in L-arginine like pine nuts, peanuts, walnuts, almonds, and of course pistachios. Brazil nuts should also form part of the mixture. Take a handful of nuts as a snack for in between, much better than those bars loaded with sugar.

Healthy Pistachios

Some other foods which need a place on your menu are Arugula, rhubarb, kale, spinach, beets, and bok choy, and do not forget to top it off with some fruits like grapes, apples, and green tea.

The benefits of drinking green tea

Green tea is about the best you can drink. Its positive effects on your health are many. Your heart will thank you when drinking a few cups a day. It is full of antioxidants that will fight cancer and it enhances your bone strength fighting osteoporosis.

These are only some of the benefits of drinking this tea known for thousands of years in Japan, China, and other Asian countries. What is important in choosing your brand of green tea is that it should be of high quality.

Cheap teas might be loaded with pesticides and can contain artificial flavors, heavy metals, mold, and could even have hidden GMOs. So please, only buy high-quality organic tea.

Conclusion

An unhealthy lifestyle will not promote a happy sex life. A stressful life and fast food are definitely not a help. The hidden stuff in man-made foods, like additives, GMOs, pesticides, artificial colors, bad fats, and sugar, or even worse aspartame, can all have a negative influence.

These things will accumulate and clog up your arteries. With clogged-up arteries the blood does not flow to where it is needed, I suppose you follow me.

Erectile dysfunction can be the first telltale sign of future heart problems. Knowing this, I suppose you might want to have a careful look at your diet and hopefully decide to make some healthy changes. Remember, I told you I am 68, and for sure am still interested in a happy sex life.

A great supplement you should not miss

We live a stressful life, always on the run. Our food is often not the right type of food. We need something to help our immune system. We need to be protected from free radicals. With all the problems we have, we might feel down.

Have a look at Organixx, this particular product helps you with the above-mentioned issues.

.

Essential Oils and so much more

.

This is a book you need

How about some tasty Broccoli Beef Ginger, Finger-Licking Curried Chicken, Spinach Stuffed Sole, or 1-2-3- Peach Cobbler? You might fancy Poached Peach with Raspberries or perhaps Luscious Chocolate Strawberries?

It sounds perhaps unbelievable, but all these dishes are good for you. The only “side effects” you will experience are a higher energy level, weight loss, lower cholesterol, and lower blood pressure. Try it.

I have made a special page for you. It holds a collection of things you might find interesting. Before you leave, have a look at Recommendations.

At least with what we put into our body we have a say. I know it is convenient to get some fast food but in the long run, we will harm ourselves so fast food is definitely not a good choice. I personally think the closer we stay to nature the better we will feel.

Hello Taetski, how are you?

You are absolutelly correct when you say that sex life have conection with heart desease. I had a sister, at age 40 her sex life stopped as she told me; about 3 year later she had a heart attack and she dies at age 53 with another heart attack.

Your Article is so informative and helpful. I am very happy to rear that the pumpkin seads increased 2.5% of you bond density. Is very hard at certain age we have improvement like that. I love all frutes and nuts you recomend so I don’t think would be very difficulty to me also to put those in my diet.

About the green tea, I did rear that have allots caffeine, is that information accurate? If so I have to void because caffeine is not good for hight blood pression that I have.

When you drink a green tea, is with or without sugar? I know sugar is not our best friends, but I can’t drink anything without some sweetness on, so because I am diabetic I preffer no take those drinks that I would love to do.

Thank you so much for the rich article. I am sure will change allots people life.

Cheers to you success dear,

    Good afternoon Telma,

Thank you for visiting my website and leaving a comment. I hope you downloaded your free PDF?

I am sorry to hear your sister died at such an early age, that really is a sad loss for you.

I am happy you find this article helpfull, it is not too difficult to make some changes in the foods we eat.

As to your question on green tea, do not worry. Green tea has a lot less caffeine than dark tea. Dark tea has a lot less than coffee. So you can have a couple of cups a day, no problem.

As to sweeten your tea I would advice Stevia, but only the good type. here is a link to one of my posts. https://healthyantiagingalternatives.com/a-better-choice-natural-and-healthy-sweeteners You could also try with a little spoon of real raw honey, that is also a healthy alternative to sugar.

Hi Taetske,

Thanks so much for writing this very informative article. They often say that you learn something new every day and I certainly learned something from this post.

I had never really given any thought to the relationship between food and sex so it was very interesting the effect that various foods has on the human body. Who would have thought that pumpkin seeds, pistachio nuts and pomegranate juice could have such a positive effect on sex-life.

Thanks again for writing this article.

Cheers,

    Good Morning Shane,

Thank you for leaving a comment on my website. I hope you have downloaded your free PDF?

Everything is related. Your total lifestyle has a big impact on your health, also in what shape you will be in the future years. As we constantly renew our cells it is up to us for the new cells to be better or worse. Food plays the biggest part in this but also the air we breathe, the water we drink and how we manage stress in our lives. Not to forget all the different types of radiation we have created around us. It is never too late to make some healthy changes.

Thank you Taetske for your article about how proper nutrition is good for your sex life. When I was younger the only thing I needed was a bottle of vodka and a double cheeseburger to enjoy a happy sex life, but now that I am getting a little older I have found that nutrition and exercise play a key role in my overall health. I will definitely try eating more nuts and dropping the coffee and switching to tea. I hope to be sexually active at 68 as well. Thanks again.

    Taetske

    Good Morning Micah,

Hmmm, I do not really know what to think about this bottle of Vodka and the double cheeseburger. How about a glass of good red wine and an organic steak instead? Your body will thank you. Man-made foods will have a negative impact on your health so if you want to be in a good shape even at 68 you might have to make some adjustments.

Hi Taetske,

I love reading your article. Our nutrition as you explain very well has a direct connection with our sex life. We must consume healthy foods, such as fruits, vegetables, fish, certain meats to avoid certain fats.

We could then say that these foods are capable of improving our performance. I’m glad to know that thanks to them, your bone structure increased its density, congratulations!

I ask you a question that you think about physical exercise, can it also improve our performance?

I await your opinion. Regards!

I was also very happy with the positive results of my bone density test. I mean this is real proof that the right foods can be a help.

You ask me if exercise should be included in daily life. I personally say yes. I do a light exercise program in the house and then I do quite a bit of garden work. As the temperatures are quite mild in the winter between 15 to 20 C it is ideal to work outside. Fresh air and sunshine. At the moment I am busy replanting all the geraniums, quite a job I can tell you. I will be occupied with that the whole month of November. As I live on a farm there are always things to do here.

What an informative article! Thank you so much! My husband and I just started juicing a couple weeks ago and the main reason for it was his high triglycerides level. I didn’t know that kale, arugula, and rhubarb helps with clogged arteries. I also heard about pine nuts very good for the cardiovascular system. Thanks for sharing this article, very helpful! Now I have to go and buy more greens and nuts))))

Hey, thank you for the awesome post!  This is very helpful info for me because I want to maintain my healthy sex life with my wife, and I did not know that animal-based foods and processed foods can affect that!  Thanks for the helpful food list.

I am   not a fan of pomegranate juice because it is so strong.  I also do not like pistachios!  However, I saw kale and arugula, and I like both of those in a salad!  So thank you!

Poor sex life in a relationship has sometimes led to the end of that relationship and its a sad thing. Going by some various food items that can be used to enhance sex lives, so much can be saved and I am glad you have listed some of the really essential ones to help maintain a healthy sex life.

Nuts are well known to be really good, although nuts are quite expensive in some areas, and its nice that not just nuts can help with it. Best regards

    Good Morning Benson,

Nice to see you again. Thank you for your comment.

The ideal relationship is having a balance between mental, spiritual, and physical connection. This is something difficult to reach. At least with the right food, we can improve the physical part. Men made foods cause a serious disbalance and men get too many female hormones. This is a serious issue that needs to be taken care of.

Hello Taetske 🙂

I have always been curious about the Food/Sex connection and i am glad I came across this post.

I am trying to cut down on the smoking(bad habit. please do not pick it up) and one major reason is to improve my sex health and this added to it.

I have been adding lots of nuts to my daily diet and I would try some Pomegranate juice as you have suggested.

Thanks

I used to smoke in the past. My last cigarette was one week before Christmas 2015. That was a good decision.

Great you have added different nuts to your diet. Nuts have good fats and a lot of health benefits. Try to eat as healthy and natural as possible and with a little luck, you will be fine.

Hello Taetske!

An interesting and scientific article about the connection between our food and our sexual life. I didn’t know about the benefits of Pomegranate juice.

Of course alimentation is very important for our sexual hormones too, besides keeping our arteries clean. And I can say I love peanuts too :).

Young couples that decide to have children may need some work on their food habits, if they want good chances to conceive a baby, and your article gives some precious indications about what they need to do. And even people who are seriously concerned about their testosterone levels being too low can follow these instructions – although it may not be very easy giving up tasty junk food! There is some “comfort price” to be paid for becoming more manly.

Best regards, Peter

    Good afternoon Peter,

Nice to see you again. Thank you for your comment.

Oh, do not tell me you eat junk food? It is the worst food there is. The name food should not be used for this stuff and eating it often can have disastrous results for your health.

You are what you eat. Nowadays it is difficult to know what to buy at the supermarkets are flooded with men-made crap. Please, always look at the label, when you cannot pronounce it and probably neither know what it means it is best to leave it standing on the shelf.

Advertisements brainwash and drive people to buy the wrong things. Fast food is loaded with unhealthy things which makes people addicted. There exists scientific proof of this.

Hi Taetski

Thanks for the great article!

A very catchy headline, and it was followed up with good information. No Click bait!

I agree that a healthy eating lifestyle can make a difference in all areas of your life, including your sex life. There are many ways to eat healthy, and the addition of the foods mentioned in your article are an easy way to improve our health.

What we drink is also important, and green tea seems like a great alternative, although I have found that alcohol can improve my sex life! LOL!

Thanks again for a great article that included links to other articles I can read to confirm the validity of your statements. It is always good to get another opinion.

I have my own opinions and you can feel free to check them out by looking up ketoandexercise

Have a great day!

    Good afternoon Tom,

Thank you for your comment. I hope you downloaded your free PDF?  Tulip widget.

I must confess I have my glass of red wine each evening and I really like it. I am not fond of other alcohol but for ending a nice dinner a little liqueur is not bad.

Good to hear you liked my title, I also found it rather nice. Not so easy to find something original every time you write a post.

I am so lucky to have own water on my farm which tastes very good. I do drink a lot of water during the day. In my bathroom, I have my special container for magnetized water which I also drink every day.

I take care of my lifestyle food included and at the age of 69 I have nothing to complain about.

Most certainly I think diet has a great deal to do with libido…You have highlighted some of the foods that we can add or increase consumption of to address that endothelium thing you mention (that was news to me, I had not heard of this)…

One question related to this – if we choose NOT to add in more these healthy foods that will cure erectile dysfunction naturally, and instead take the “Blue Pill” (i.e. Viagra) are we doing more harm than good to our bodies? I am a bit leery about pills in general and avoid them whenever possible. The natural method seems much more viable over time than some pill.

Add in the additional benefits of better blood circulation for all parts of your body, and it seems like a n-brainer to use the natural foods you mention! Great article, an enjoyable read…

    Good afternoon Dave,

I think there was a little hiccup in the system as I was not aware I had received a comment.
Thank you for your visit. It is always a pleasure to see you.

Our society has a need for immediate solutions for all that ails them. I firmly believe that these ailments are, most of the time, caused by our unhealthy lifestyle/men-made foods.
To run to the doctor and get a pill, chemicals, is not the right way. Most people prefer doing that as they refuse to make healthy changes.

No blue, pink, or green pill in my life. Going the natural way takes longer to see effects but it will be longer-lasting. One is never too old to change.

You are absolutely right in that food and sex are so related. Healthy eating leads to a healthy body, and a healthy body leads to us becoming more motivated for any kind of activity really.

The foods (and drinks) you have included here are foods that are well-known to help us become healthier. I consume pomegranate juice, green tea and nuts regularly. I’ll try to incorporate pumpkin seeds into my diet from now on!

I grow a lot of medicinal herbs and plants because I use them for ailments and using it for my well-being. But I couldn’t find info on fruits, seeds, and nuts for people who don’t like the taste of tincture and teas.

Your post comes in handy when another picky person doesn’t like my teas.
I especially like that it helps with a healthy sex lifestyle too. Too many people as they age can’t continue that whether it’s health or lost interest.

This would be great info to pass along to those who need an extra boost.

Thank you for your visit and for your comment. I hope you downloaded your free PDF? Tulip widget.

How interesting that you grow your own herbs and plants. I always say that Mother Nature provides for all our needs. Most time it is better to turn to nature instead of popping a pill. I am happy I can say I live pill-free (chemical) but I do take supplements.

As I live on an organic farm in the south of Spain I am lucky I can grow food and have different fruit trees. Nice to hear you find my post helpful.
