Be careful with the overload of aluminum in your life

Modern life poses many problems, and one of them is the overload of aluminum in our system. I have written a post about it in the past and the dangers it presents. Not that aluminum is something new, no, it is the third most common metal found on our planet.

It is a very useful metal, but it is one thing to make equipment and machines out of aluminum, but a completely distinct thing is when it is present in your body.

Ever present aluminum in our daily life

They use aluminum for so many things that we might not even realize a certain thing is made from this metal. Just the other day, I became conscious of that. I opened a container of collagen powder and took 2 small scoops to put in my coffee. To open this canister, you have to pull off a thin lid and this lid is made of aluminum.

As another example, the eye drops I use come in a carton box with 5 aluminum packets. Inside each Aluminum packet are 5 individual mono doses of these drops. These are just 2 examples, but there are many more.

Accumulation of heavy metals

This metal should not be in your body, but its accumulation is too easy. You can ingest it, inhale it, and you can absorb it through the skin and you might not even be aware of it.

It stays in your system, in the bone and brain, lungs and liver, and also thyroid. It is bio-accumulative, so over the years your aluminum levels will continue to increase and it will cause oxidative stress in your tissues and cells.

Aluminum toxicity is related to multiple health issues. As it accumulates over the years in your system, you can get chronic conditions which you do not understand.

As an example, aluminum interferes with the metabolism of iron. If you are exposed to this metal, the end result is you get anemia. Getting anemia, they might advise you to take an iron supplement, but that obviously will not work. You have to get rid of the aluminum first.

How to detoxify

To do a good detox now and then is an excellent idea. Over time, we accumulate all kinds of toxins that interfere with the mechanism of our system. Our immune system cannot function well.

Another strange thing is you might get nonalcoholic fatty liver disease. This is a strange disease, I think, but it seems that one in four people has this condition.

To think that when tested, 80% of people show excessive levels of aluminum in their hair samples. This is one of the best testing methods, but of course, the hair must not have been washed just prior to the test.

Monitor these ailments

Now you might wonder, how does a person know if they have too much aluminum in the body? Some early symptoms might alert you. Perhaps getting headaches often, difficulty in breathing, or your skin is becoming dry. These are a few examples, and there are more telltale signs.

When the toxicity is getting more serious, you might experience memory loss, confusion, and even paralytic muscular conditions. All this sounds rather awful, don’t you think?

Luckily, there are quite a few things that you can do at home. Introduce them into your normal daily routine and you will be surprised at the positive effect. The ways to detox are not difficult, but a must.

Reduce the Aluminum by 70%

There are other ways to battle the aluminum overload in your body. Dr. Exley, a professor of Bioinorganic Chemistry at Keele University, has reported that drinking mineral water can decrease the aluminum concentration in your body by 70%.

You might ask why drinking mineral water can have such a benefit? This mineral water contains a significant amount of silicon, and drinking water with silicon in it for 12 weeks would contribute to this positive result. You can also look at what types of food contain high levels of silicon.

Some good water brands with silicon

I live in the south of Spain in the province of Malaga. We know this area for its hard water, but hard water contains more silicon than soft water. I will not complain anymore about the water I have here. If you have to drink mineral water, it seems that the brands Fiji and also Volvic have the optimal amount of silicon.

Be sure to check the label. You will need a minimum concentration of 30 mg/L, or 30 ppm, of silica. No need to tell you to take the unsweetened and or unflavored variety, just plain mineral water.

Do not miss this short but interesting YouTube video. There is more to Aluminium than you think.

Vitamins can be a big help

Food wise you can also do a lot. Take a good dose of vitamin C and E. Eat garlic, onions, broccoli, arugula, and kale. They help to promote the production of glutathione, which is the body’s master antioxidant.

Check what aluminum you have

De- aluminate your house, well, this is a word I just made up, but I suppose you get the idea. Do not cook in aluminum, never ever. You should avoid drinking from aluminum cans (have a bottle of beer instead of a can). Take care to restrict the use of aluminum foil in your kitchen, it is a neurotoxin. It is not a good idea to cover food with this foil and then put it into the oven.

Use glass or ceramic as much as possible because it is completely inert and does not leach any harmful particles into your food. Also, the fact you can reuse it is a benefit because there is a lot less waste.

A question to my readers, how do you bake a potato (or corn or fish) on the barbecue without the aluminum foil? If you have any ideas, please let me know in your comment.

A portable Sauna

To have an infra-red sauna in your house is not something all people can afford. That is why having a portable one could be an option. It is said to help with a variety of conditions. They are cheap and you can try it out to see how it feels. Perhaps in the future you might decide to get a build one. The Mayo Clinic says it is ok.

Hi there,

I accidentally come across your article about how to check luminium overload  and I find it very interesting so thank you very much.

I never thought Aluminium can get I to our body systems such ways can can cause multiple disease such as fatty liver. I wonder why such important topic is not discussed in schools or TVs so thanks again for your article.

I should circulate it amongst my Facebook friends.

Thanks again for the article.

Best wishes.

I should really be careful with the overload of aluminum in my life. Come to think of it, most things we consume come in aluminum containers. From tin milk to tin tomatoes to canned drinks to aluminum foil wrapped food.

I have not given it much thought before but I just feel surrounded by aluminum right now. And the dangers of this substance is becoming real to me. I will take your advice and improve on taking more silicon and vitamins.

Here I am trying so much to be healthy, and I haven’t even given thought to the aluminum issue.  In fact, I cook with aluminum foil all the time.  I am going to seriously look into this now, and I am going to stop cooking with aluminum.  I honestly had no idea about this, and I wanted to pop in and thank you for this article.  I really appreciate you bringing this important information to light for me.

Thanks for writing this article on the effect of aluminum in the human body. I must commend you for a job well done for doing your findings and research before writing this article. As bad as it should I just took a can drink now. I really find this article educative and informative on a matter related to health, in this world, we are today it really hard to get rid of aluminum in all what we take into our system we can only reduce it to a very low level. Because knowingly or unknowingly we consume it, I like the fact that you give out a solution on how to reduce it by 70%

I’ve heard the news about plastic being a problem, but never realized that the same can be said about aluminum. I also understand that it is a common product that has many uses.

From an environmental perspective, the sheer amount of energy required to turn bauxite into aluminum is non-sustainable, not to mention the precious resources we waste. I would like to know what alternatives are out there that replace it or is it something that should be studied within each respective product’s niche?

I really need to read up more about this, to fully grasp its impact in our daily lifestyle and health issues we experiencing. Thank you for making me aware of this.

    Good Morning Ian,

I find it amazing how things created by humans to make our life easier can have so many side effects. It is like modern medicine. A huge setup, billions involved, people getting sicker. Anyhow, what can one do? Since I have my websites I have been directly confronted with many things that affect our health and environment. My eyes have been opened multiple times and my total world view has changed considerably. Personally, I think that is good. To be aware of what is happening, worldwide, on many levels. Back to nature, I think that is it. I have to confess I am only like 50% and know very well I can do a lot better but I am trying to at least reduce my carbon footprint.

Thank you for your comment. I hope you downloaded your free PDF?

I did not know that aluminum too was a metal that we need to watch for, but it certainly makes sense, as too much of anything is generally not a good thing. There is a lot of aluminum just like plastic around us today, and just being aware of that can help I think.

There have to be a thousand ways to cut down on this, such as buying drinks in cartons that are made of waxed thick cardboard or paper, using recyclable glass bottles, etc. The aluminum foil issue is also one that can be addressed by using the waxed paper (like that used for cookie baking) and containers made of glass and resealable glass tops (I have seen them almost like the canning jars but square-shaped…

In regards to grilling without aluminum foil, I might try the Corning Glass with a lid. Anything you can wrap can be put in that and placed on the grill (should stand up to the heat and do the job of cooking the potato/corn on the cob/fish/vegetables). I will try that and see.

It is good to come here and get real information on things around us that can harm us. This is not information I get elsewhere, most certainly you will not see it in the news much. I appreciate your efforts to educate us all and keep us safe. Speaking of that, I will start drinking more water too that has good levels of silicone (I have to check around here to see which brand is best). Thanks much!

    Good Morning Dave,

Nice to see you back again and thank you for your comment.

In Holland, we say: every word that has te veel= too much in front of it is no good with the exception of Love.

Amazing to see all these modern inventions which have multiple side effects. Was living in the past easier? I do not know but a fact is nowadays one has to be so careful of so many things, sometimes it gets a bit much I must say.

I hope that you will find good water with lots of silicon where you live. As I said in my post I have good hard water in the Malaga area so there I am ok.

I will try what you suggest and use this special glass for grilling. Not that we do a lot of grilling, mainly in the summer when there are guests it is fun.

This is a highly informative article on the dangers of aluminum. I have heard of it before and its quite alarming reading what negative effects it might bring with it. You have offered some valuable practical tips to reduce aluminum consumption – I, for example, like to drink from glass-bottles whenever possible. What do you think about coffee capsules from let’s say – Nespresso? Are they dangerous or can they be consumed with ease?

You asked a good question so I investigated a little. Aluminum coffee capsules are not your best choice. It is not good for the environment either so we better go back to using coffee the old way. I am sending you a link with some more information.

It’s difficult to completely eliminate your exposure to aluminum but you can take steps to reduce it. Purchase Whole Foods. Aluminum cans and processed food packaging yes, even the paper looking stuff  usually contains aluminum. Choose Aluminum-Free Deodorant. Avoid Antacids. Detoxify Your Body.long before now I never knew that excess of aluminum in the body exposes the body to great danger. Thanks for the content it’s so rich and explicit

I had already steered clear of alumum in deodorants by using an anti-perspirant stick after hearing that regular deodorant wasn’t necessarily that healthy, but I was never aware of aluminum being such a big deal.                                          Memory loss and paralysis, damn. If that’s true, then this is definitely something to be wary about.

Anyway, thank you for providing possible solutions towards detoxing oneself practically and easily. Many articles I come across on these kind of things, like on cellphone connections, are very pessimistic and give you the impression that you’re basically done for and that there is nothing realistic you can do about it, so once again a big thanks for including positivity in your post and not making me feel bad 🙂

Hello Taetske. I really appreciate your concern for healthy living. Your article on caution on the overload of aluminum in our body really give me more insight on the need to caution somethings for my healthy living and avoid excess aluminum in my body. I will like to commend you for taking out time to write this article about aluminum overload.in our body. I will like to say that aluminum is very important to the body, and it is very very bad when it is in excess. Aluminum can also find their way in fruits, plants.they can be also be found in excess. And they are known as trace metals.

    Taetske

    Good Morning Barry,

I must point out that there is a misunderstanding on your part. Aluminum is ok to make things from but it is not a metal we need in our body to be healthy. Too much aluminum in the body will cause health issues. Aluminum is a non-essential trace metal, so we do not need it.

Thanks for dropping this very informative article. Well when aluminum is in excess in the body system, it can even result to cancer and or other health complications. They can also be known as heavy metal when the concentration is high. And are trace metals when found in either fruit plant.

Hi, Taetske, As one that has been on the road to self-healing I have known about aluminum for quite some time now and I am glad that you have brought this subject up.

There is so much toxic waste that we are taking in that it most difficult to keep up with all of these dangers that are in the world today.

But I am thankful that I come across people that take their time to write about these topics. It is so important that we get the correct information.

There has been much information come to light it is hard to keep track of all of them. So thank you very much for the work you do here.

Hi, Taetske,
Your article is very informative on the dangers of aluminum. My husband and I are trying to reduce this metal from our lives for quite some years. We have exchanged our cookware with ceramic and don’t drink any beverage from the can. However, it is sometimes, almost, impossible to avoid it completely but we try to do our best.
I remember when I was living in Germany I loved to drink Volvic, it was my most used beverage. Here in Canada, I am lucky that we do have our own water well which is very high in minerals.
Since I live in Canada, my husband introduced me to take vitamins on a daily basis and we use vitamin E and C, so we really try to do our best to minimize the toxic effect of aluminum.
Unfortunately, we still use the aluminum foil when making baked potatoes, therefore, I also hope someone might have an alternative to it.
Thank you for sharing this information.
Namaste

    Good afternoon Sylvia,

Welcome back to my website. Thank you for your comment.

In the summertime, we love to be on our patio where we can entertain guests sitting in the pergola. The patio has cobblestones so it is safer to sit in the pergola which has a flat surface. We sometimes do a bit of barbeque and yes, potatoes in aluminum foil. So there you see I neither live a completely aluminum free life.
Dave left a comment and he suggested to use special glassware. I will try it out but if it is not successful will use foil again for the potatoes. What also tastes good is potato salad when it is warm outside so it does not always have to be baked potatoes.
I also have my own water from a perforation, it turned out to be perfect water with no added nasty things.

I think it is good to take care of your health and try to avoid damaging substances. On the other side, one should not get stressed when now and then creeps in a little imperfection.

Aloha Taetske!
Thank you for sharing this important and alarming information!! I received many hints on how to avoid aluminum in our kitchen. I wasn’t aware of many things as for example how bad it is to keep a fresh cut lime in aluminum foil. But of course other fresh fruit and veggies, I ruin trying to keep them fresh in aluminum foil. Big, big issue is the deodorant that contains aluminum, and that my husband uses. He has breathing and also often muscle sore issues and we are looking for solutions. Maybe it is as simple as to get rid of that deodorant …
Thank you for your great post! Please, continue your great work and spread the information!!

I sometimes get the impression that modern life with all these new inventions can become rather complicated. If one is not informed one can do things which can affect our health and we have not a clue. What also happens often is that companies keep quiet about health hazards their product can cause. They are out to earn money even if it may harm you.

Perhaps you care to look at this link, you might find a decent substitute for the deodorant your husband uses

Wow, you don’t realize how much aluminum is around you until you read an article like this. Bags of chips, seals on dressing bottles, aluminum is everywhere. There is no way to avoid it, just like plastic. The best thing we can do is like you said: eat the right foods and drink mineral water. This is good advice.

I will do my best to reduce my use of aluminum cans and will no longer wrap food in foil. The convenience of aluminum makes it a hard habit to break.

Human inventions might seem good in the beginning, but often over time we find out it is not all gold that glitters. Modern man has no time or very little and plastic, aluminum plus quite a few more things are meant to make our life comfortable and easier. We ignore the burden on the environment and the health price we will pay in the end.

First, I want to start by saying I had no idea how many different ways a body can absorb aluminum. Furthermore, I was intrigued to see all the different products that could possibly pass aluminum onto your body and my head started hurting thinking of all the different instances of aluminum I have ingested in the past year alone.

Luckily, you solved our problem and explained how we can go about detoxifying so I will be taking part in furthering my health soon.

    Good Morning Omer,

When one makes a list to see how often one is in contact with aluminum, that list can be rather long. We do not realize it, but this metal forms part of our modern life on multiple levels. It definitely is a good idea to do a detox a couple of times a year.

Thank you for your visit and for your comment. I hope you downloaded your free PDF? Tulip widget.
