My name is Taetske and I would like to tell you a bit about myself

I have started this website in the hope that my personal experience will help you. Whenever I find important information on health, I will write a post. By now, I am convinced that most of the time, it is the food you choose and eat that will keep you healthy or will cause ailments.

I was born in 1950, and in 2003 I happily entered my menopause. I had no symptoms, like hot flashes or similar, so I was thrilled to have reached this point. No more periods or buying feminine hygiene products.

In 2007, with my annual checkup, I was told that something was slightly out of order and that I had to have a color Doppler scan performed. The results ended up with me having an Endometrial Ablation (scraping the lining of the uterus) and an order to return in 6 months.

At my next visit, my gynaecologist informed me that in 6 months, the lining should not have exceeded 6 millimeters and mine had grown 10 millimeters. He told me, “It is as if there is a party going on in your uterus.” He then stated, “In my experience, in five to a maximum of 10 years, you will have cancer, so I advise you to have a total hysterectomy.” This operation was scheduled towards the end of 2008.

My unusual proposal

As my gynaecologist is open to unusual ideas, or I should say he is used to me coming up with unusual things, I told him I wanted to calculate the most convenient date for this operation since it was not an extreme emergency.

I wanted to consider the moon phase and my astrological sign. He was so kind as to accept one of my suggested dates and arranged for the operation. I started to fast on Sunday (the concept behind this is you can save the energy used for the digestive process and expand it on healing.)

I was admitted to the hospital on Monday and operated on Tuesday. When they rolled me into the operating room, I asked them if I could keep my bed socks on because I have cold feet. There I was being operated on with my red bed socks knitted by my Mother.

I do not remember much about Wednesday because they kept me sedated. On Thursday, I was wide awake, picked up the tubes, and marched off to take a shower. The nurses were worried about my not eating, but I insisted on fasting.

My gynaecologist has a problem

My gynaecologist showed up and said, “I have a problem with the nurses because you do not eat.” So I said, OK, does this hospital produce some broth? He said yes, and I said breakfast, lunch, and dinner are to be broth. All were happy. On Friday, the gynaecologist said I was healing so nicely that I would be released the following day (Saturday).

Then he stated “You were the talk of the operating room because, with this kind of cut (20 cm in length), I normally need to use 10 to 14 cotton swabs but in your case, I only used 3. Then I explained to my colleagues your wish to have the operation when the moon was past full and waning.”

Like in nature, when you prune a tree, the moon should wane, so the tree does not lose its life force.

An unnecessary operation

Had I known at that time what I now know, I would not have had this operation. I now listen more carefully to what my body is telling me. My hormones were not balanced. This is, of course, normal during the years of menopause. If I had taken steps to get this balance back, this operation could have been avoided.

They operate each year over half a million women in the U.S. It seems that 90% of these operations are unnecessary. Before you have a hysterectomy, investigate the alternatives.

I came home and within a relatively short time, I started feeling awful. I started talking to myself in the kitchen in a loud voice (Taetske this is not you) and within 3 months, I had put on 9 kilos (20 pounds). When a woman says, I have nothing to wear and her wardrobe is full of clothes, men usually smile, but in my case, it was the absolute truth because I had increased 1 to 2 sizes.

I went to my general practitioner, stood in front of him, and said: “Doctor, I am a nervous wreck.” He looked at me, smiled, and said:” Señora; I think you will be able to manage.” What I thought at that moment, I would not put it in writing but for sure, it was not nice. I understood I had to take care of my own health.

My gynaecologist offered to give me some hormonal substitute, but as these were not bio-identical hormones, but a chemical abomination, I declined.

The show of Larry King

During these three months, on a Sunday morning, I happened to watch the Larry King show. At that moment, he was discussing her book “Breakthrough: Eight Steps to Wellness” with the author, Suzanne Somers. This book is about nanotechnology, anti-ageing, and hormone therapies.

I said to myself, do I know anything about this, no I don’t. So I ordered the book. (I really think that all men and women should read this book, in some cases, it might be lifesaving and at least it will provide valuable health information.)  You can find this and many of her other books at this link.
.
Suzanne Somers
.

.
This book was an eye-opener. I read it very carefully, underlining many passages and also putting big exclamation marks in the margins. I learned a lot of important things, but one very shocking bit was that for decades, they have fooled women worldwide into taking a hormone replacement which is made from the urine of a mare.

Although the hormones that are harvested are nearly the same as human hormones, the difference is molecular (on the scale of one or two atoms.)  One would think that this is so small that it won’t make a difference, but it does. It is not identical to hormones made by the human body.

In the long run, non-bio-identical hormone replacement has serious side effects and has been tied to increased cancer risk.

It is very sad, but Suzanne Somers died, one day before her 77th birthday. I am posting the link to an article where you can read about it. She had a whole and colorful life and will be missed by millions of people worldwide.

I find my anti-ageing doctor

Through this book, I got to know about anti-ageing and was lucky to find a doctor close by who prescribes this philosophy. After thorough tests, including a DNA study of my ancestral health risks, He put me on a regime of hormone supplements and I regained my vigor.

I started going in a new direction and slowly but surely, my eating habits and lifestyle changed. (more about this later.)

3 years later

My website has grown during these years and now holds quite a few posts which are health-related. I have also learned a lot as when you investigate while writing your post you often come across interesting information. Something that I have often stated is that we have to take more care and be more critical of what we eat. Man-made foods are bad for us, the closer we eat and live to nature, the better.

I have made a special page for you. It holds a collection of things you might find interesting. Pay a visit to Recommendations before you leave.

Thanks for sharing your experience Taetske. Like you, I am a firm believer that your body should be treated the natural way. Nature knows better than medications. Of course it is always recommended to see a medical practitioner if you have a problem, but if you respect your body in the first place, you will not need to see a doctor anyway. I wish the very best and I look forward to reading more of your articles and advice.

    Good afternoon John,

Thank you for visiting my website.Nature is definitely the wiser one of us all. Things that were known ages ago are being rediscovered by science, it seems that Mother Nature provides so well for her children, the problems is that we do not look. I hardly ever have to visit a doctor and I plan to keep it that way. Since 1981 I am green here on the farm in the south of Spain. There is nothing nicer than to sit on the patio at 13.30 and eat oranges/grapefruits and mandarins from one’s own orchard.

Like the old saying goes, what doesn’t kill you only makes you stronger.I was moved by your story. You have been through quite a bit.But it also appears you came through stronger and smarter.
You have created an incredible, very informative site.Thank you. Also, I was intrigued by the section on Himalayan salt. Do you know where I might get it here in Florida.?

    Good evening David,

Thank you for visiting my website and your kind words. Hopefully, the older I get, I pick up valuable information along the way. I like to pass it on to all who care to listen. I get my Himalayan salt in the Health shop here in Spain. I Googled where to get it in Florida and am happy to be able to tell you that quite a few options appeared. All the best. Regards, Taetske

Hi Taetske,
Thanks for sharing your story. It must be fate that I read this blog because my daughter just had a full hysterectomy about 10 days ago. She is only 23 years old. About 3 years ago she had ovarian cancer and the doctors removed a 9lb tumor, her left ovary and Fallopian tube and her appendices. Ever since the surgery she has been miserable. They had her taking hormone treatments and 2 years after the surgery she went into menopause. The risk of uterine cancer was so great that she elected to have the full surgery done. She is happy about her decision, but no she is looking for more natural remedies to help with her health. Because of the situation she is in, her body has aged over night. She now has the bone density of a 80 year old and she feel like one, too. She is now hoping to get her life back through alternative medicines.

    Good evening Ashley,

What a sad story, I really feel sorry for your young daughter, much too young to have gone through this ordeal. From my experience, I can only say go and find a good anti-aging doctor who will be able to help her. I do not know where she lives but with the internet, it is so easy to find out where such a doctor is close by. I would also tell her to read that book by Suzanne Somers, a real eye opener. I am convinced she should not give up hope as most of her health will come back if she takes the right steps. Wishing you all the best.

    Good afternoon Dr. Garant,

Thank you for visiting my website. The more people know about all the possibilities that exist to stay healthy the better. Traditional medicine only offers cures in the form of some chemical pill or treatment which tries to cure the symptoms and not the origin of the problem and on top of it, these treatments have nasty side effects.

    Good Morning Danielle,

Thank you for your visit and also the compliment, you make my weekend.
I hope you had time to read the post on Eastern perspective and why we should be eating fruits.
I love discovering new things on health, the more I advance the better I feel as I at least try out the new things I find.
If they are good I will add it to my lifestyle and like that, over the years, I have changed the way I eat and what I eat.
Hope to reach 90 in a good shape.

Hi Taetske,
I was trying to leave a comment on your post about the Sacred Plant but for some reason the comments section was not to be found on that page. I wanted you to know that my daughter did a lot of her own research into the use of cannabis and had been using it for quite a few years to combat her Developmental PTSD and her adult ADD. It really helped her get to a point in her life where she was beginning to improve in her levels of anxiety combined with Neurofeedback sessions weekly with a trained professional. She recently had to stop taking it altogether due to financial reasons and was a bit worried if she would be able to cope without it. She has managed to get through more than 3 months cannabis free now and did not find the process too difficult. I believe the cannabis set a lot of things right in her head prior to giving up, she just needed to believe in herself more. We used essential oils to help with any anxiety that started to arise after stopping. I see you are writing about many controversial topics. It’s great to see that more and more people are becoming aware. Thank you for contributing to this trend of helping others become aware of the things that are being kept from us. Really loved reading your posts.

    Good afternoon Ange,

I am sorry you about the hiccup, this has been rectified now so one can leave comments on the Sacred Plant page. How worrisome to have a dear child with this problem. I do think her use of Cannabis must have really helped her. Good to hear her health has improved over the time.
Yes, I love writing about things that are being kept away from us people be it by big Pharma, FDA, and family. I hope to see you again as I publish a new post each week. With best wishes to you and your daughter.

Dear Taetske,
I had a hysterectomy and took hormone treatment for about 10 years. I found out you were supposed to be on them for only about 3 years. I was having 13 hot flashes a day when I stopped using the Estratest. At my local health food store I inquired about anyone in the area doing bio identical hormone replacement therapy after reading Somer’s book. I found a Dr. and have been on them for 14 years and never felt better. I have told several of my friends about them and they have been really happy with the result also.
Best regards, Deanna

    Good afternoon Deanna,

Even if we listen to our doctors one still has the responsibility to think for one self. I also found out the hard way. It is a big price one pays for not being well informed but I hope it will never happen anymore in my life. I write about these things wishing people might read it and thus be spared a stupid and unnecessary operation. Thank you for visiting my website.

    Good evening Keisi,

Thank you for visiting my website. As you can see I have gone through my personal evolution. When I stopped working in 1986 I had time to learn about healthy things, what foods to eat. Slowly but surely I tried many different things and through error and trial, I found out what is good for me. I always say, keep an open mind.

Dear Taetske,
I read your story with a heavy heart since I know how awful it is for a woman to go through a hysterectomy.
You are absolutely right that this operation is 9 out of 10 totally unnecessary and cruel to the woman.
In my former profession, I was a Nurse and trained in the medical science way, I thought for many years that doctors should and do know best. After an aunt of mine went through it herself and I could see how slowly she had lost her vitality, she wasn’t herself anymore.

They also started her on HRT, this was in the late 70s and early 80s. She seemed to come around, in the beginning, but have ended with stomach cancer just a few years later.
This was also about the time where I too changed my understanding of allopathic medicine vs. homeopathic treatments.
For me, personally, I learned a lot about bioidentical progesterone by reading two amazing books from the late Dr. John R. Lee MD “What Your Doctor May Not Tell You About Pre-Menopause” and “What Your Doctor May Not Tell You About Menopause”.
Both books were an eye-opener and I always highly recommend them to any woman to read them, no matter what their age right now.
I am glad you are on a better path and I do wish you only the best to come.

Namaste
Sylvia

    Good evening Sylvia,

Thank you for stopping by and leaving a comment.
When I look back, even if it would have been better not to have that operation, I now understand a lot more things. Because of what happened I started to read more. Then, by the end of 2013 I got a computer, rather late in life. Having a computer I followed Summits and Masterclasses and in 2017 I started with writing for my 2 websites.
There you see, one thing lead to the other and it is good like it is.
I realize when one is caught in the health system it might not end well. Better make an effort to stay healthy and that is what I am doing. I soon will be 69, I am still learning new things and if I think these things have value I will add them to my lifestyle.
I have gone through my personal health/food evolution and really think I am in better shape than compared to 40 years ago.
Thank you for your kind wishes, I also wish you a healthy and happy life.

    Regards, Taetske

Wow, your story is fascinating. I am so sorry that you had to go through a surgery that might not have been necessary. However, I am impressed with how you were able to insist upon certain things that could make the experience as easy as possible.

I have seen other studies about using fasting as a sort of way to reset the body and it feels like a therapy that should gain more traction over the coming years. Kudos to you for being at the forefront of this. Wishing you all the best!

May 28.2021 | 03:14 pm

    Taetske

    Good Morning Aly,

I think fasting is a good thing. We have food available 24hours and that is not normal and neither good for our health.

I started with fasting early 1990s and since then have done a 9 day fast over 45 times. It is good to give your body a rest. A big part of the available energy is used for digesting your food. If you stop eating, you have all that energy available for other things. I once build a pergola with 12 pillars of two-and-a-half meters high in my Mother’s garden while fasting.

When animals are sick, they stop eating. I wanted to have extra energy for the healing process and that is why I decided to fast. People too often accept what is standard, like everybody is doing it, so I have to do it too. We have to think for ourselves, as others will not do it for us.

Do you remember you can download a free PDF of your choice at the tulip widget?

Thank you for sharing this very personal journey with us.

You certainly have had a lot to face up to and come through. It is very unfortunate to know that if you knew before what you know now, that you could have avoided such evasion surgery.

But hopefully, you will be able to help many others who are in the same position to make different choices.

    Good Morning Geoff,

Thank you for your visit and for your comment. Nice to see you again. Did you remember you can download a free PDF of your choice at the tulip widget?

In 1986, when I stopped working as a tourist guide I started with my interest in food and what it does to your health. I went through different stages, trying this or that, and see how I felt. Many years later, when in 2008 I had this stupid surgery I think that was a wake-up call.

From that moment onward I started reading a lot and when by the end of 2013 I got a computer I followed up with summits and masterclasses, most of them health-related. When you read and investigate, you find out about many things and some go against the mainstream.

By now I am convinced we are responsible for our own health and should not blindly follow what is normally accepted as being good. Often it is Big Pharma earning of your ailments that can be avoided.

Hi Taetske,

Thank you so much for sharing your story. It will help a lot of women to decide whether or not to do this type of surgery.

I believe only in natural remedies because our body is mart and the problem is that we often underestimated it. It sad to say, but I don’t believe in conventional anymore as I used to a few years ago. My story, if you don’t mind:) I suffer from cholesterol, and my doctor prescribed me pills to decrease it. I refused to take them, of course. But then she said to me, don’t you want to enjoy life and eat whatever you want? When she said this sentence, it just reinforced how much I was right.

A few years later, I went to a homeopath, and he told me never to take those medications to decrease the cholesterol because they cause cancer. However, thank you for creating such a great site! I have bookmarked it so I can read more of your useful posts.

    Good afternoon Daniella,

Thank you for stopping by and for your comment. I hope you downloaded your free PDF? Tulip widget.

Good for you, you refused to take those pills. These pills normally have a long list of side effects. One nasty side effect is that you will be taking pills for the rest of your life. This reminds me of the story of a dear friend. She was an old lady already. Oops, I now have that age. Anyhow she got something for her heart and that medicine ruined her digestive system. I am happy I can say I live chemical pill-free and only take supplements.

You need cholesterol. Never mind if your LDH is kind of high as long it is in balance with a rather high HDL. That is what my anti-aging doctor tells me.

This website is mainly health-related. My other website motherearthstreasures talks about the environment. These 2 sister sites, as I call them, often overlap as health and environment are related.

    Regards, Taetske
